A couple of questions for everybody.
What is your favorite cleaning solution? Purchased or home-brewed?
How many cycles does it usually take to get your brass clean?

Purchased a Frankford Arsenal one from Midway on sale.
Don't know if it is me the solution, or what put it seems to take lots of cycles which is a PAIN even if I run the heater in it. (defective cleaner maybe?)
Run 3 @ 480 wait, run 3 more @ 480 wait etc.

I can toss them in the vib cleaner with walnut and/or corncob and let it run for hours no hassle and seem to have better luck.

(I no the ultrasonic won't shine I am just concerned with clean, the corncob will shine them up.

I use Hornady's One Shot brass cleaner, no more then 3 oz for a full load, or will use a tee-spoon of Lemi-shine from Wall-Mart and a quick squirt of Dawn dish washing detergent.

I think one works as good as the other. My experience with my Lyman Ultrasonic cleaner has been really good. I believe it's also made by Frankford Arsonal but really can't prove it.

I put my solution in with hot water from the facet and turn the heater on.

I usually run two cycles through per load and they come out really clean.

Now I need to tell you, my cases that were once fired or close to it come really clean, my cases that have been fired for years with no attention other than my rotary tumbler don't come clean inside to the point that they look new again.

I've ran old neglected rifle cases through my cleaner that are years and years old and they don't shine at all. But they will take all night in my rotary tumble to clean them also and they still don't look like I'd like them to look. Just too much tarnish and corrosion.

My primer holes almost always come clean in most all my cases that get a regular bath but I ultrasonic my cases every time their fired. The primer pockets don't need to be completely clean but I like them that way.

What are you using for a formula now?
