I have been thinking about PCP air guns for some time and have been looking at a lot of different makes and types, but was hesitant to jump in and spend 7 or 8 hundred or much more only to find out that keeping them fed with air is a big PITA.
So I set my sights lower at the entry level guns and started looking at them.
Well, I was on my way to a job and it started raining hard, so I swung into an Academy Outdoor store to pick up some rain gear and there on the shelf was a new Umarex Origin and it was calling my name, so I walked out with rain gear and a PCP rifle.
As I said, I was on my way to an out of town job and it was actually one of several that were going to keep me on the road for a month, so I just the week berfore last got around to mounting an optic and trying it out
I think I am hooked now. For an entry level gun this thing is pretty amazing. Very accurate and lots of power. Yes it is a bit of a chore to pump up with the hand pump, but I have just been pumping the night before and then go out to my little 25 yard back yard range and go through 5 magazines and still have air left if I want to load a couple more.
And did I mention that it is a good shooter?
This was at 25 yard off a bench rest.
Next I need to mow down some more scrub and try it out at 50 yards.
