So I read a lot about the 300aac and I think I'm going to give it a try. I'm not going to SBR it, especially not as an experiment. But I hear a lot of peopel have trouble getting their gun to run. I know part of the problem with the setup is that there is such a large variation in what it is supposed to be able to shoot. 110grn supers to 240grn subs, suppressed and unsuppressed.

That said, I'm going to load and shoot cast bullets only. Probably try lee's 230grn mold, I have some 130, 150, and 170grn gas checks for a 30/30 I thought I might try, just poke around and find something that shoots well. and eventually I might plop a suppressor on it. maybe in 2 years (I"m not too hung up about that. barrels are not so expensive that I couldn't replace the barrel if I needed to for a suppressor)

I see that most 16" barrels run carbine gas, but if I am shooting lower pressure lead loads, would I be better served with a pistol system?

So with that criteria in mind, what gas system would be most appropriate? pistol or carbine? cmmg makes a barrel on midway for about 180-coupon code, they have some stoner barrels as well, or these dc machine barrels are kind of interesting for cheaper. http://www.twinriverarms.com/collec...r-15-16-300-blackout-1-8-twist-416r-ss-barrel
