kudu,
I better understand myself from this experience. Oh there have been other times such as these, just this one...
..I recall my Mentors & Elders speaking of dimensions. I guess if one looks over their life they realize they have gone thru dimensions, just didn't know it at the time. I admit I have. I guess I was ready to go thru another and didn't know it, HBR was my guidance perhaps.
This one is ...well...Mentors and Elders had this way, about them. I think I just understand more about why. Not a age thing, not getting old, just I guess one has to pass forward and experience somethings until "you get there".
Part of me has this grin and feeling inside I cannot explain about HBR. Other parts of me have this mixed set of emotions in regard to this upcoming Tribute, you do what you gotta do. Acceptance is the key...folks are gone, Respect for not only the folks, for what they represented and passed forward.
Now like I said - we did my/our games cold. I got wind of and HBR is scratching her head and got this odd evil grin when ...well a Lever Action of a Texas Ranger is gonna be at this Tribute, as will be some other rifles and handguns...oh plenty of shotguns.
HBR just wonderin' "A Model 94 on a Skeet Field?"
All I'll say is this Texas Ranger wanted to train in some areas...so we did.
Wait until she gets there and finds she too gets to participate on a skeet field with her CCWs...
Like I said, some folks got some things stereotyped. Some folks got all wrapped around the axle buying skill and targets.
Not me, not my kind, we broke off , burned membership cards, quit being a part of something and went our own way.
Like I said before, not your grandpappy's skeet fields , games not "sanctioned" - some fields had two throwers on each house and perhaps some other "additions".
I have put over 200k rounds thru my SX1. HBR just had a blast stuffing dummy rounds in it and hitting the bolt close button on the right side of receiver..."I'm not gonna hurt it or wear it out am I?"
"No"
I figure the dummy shells will play out soon enough... that I do know!
Seems wimmin' are hard-headed and persitant. Driving her nuts about what I gave her...I did not give in.
Instead I tossed her a 20 ga shell with a $ on it.
Talk about a puzzled look! Of course I was grinning.
"Give me a hint <expletive>"
"Atlas Shrugged"
"Oh my! Been awhile...".
Well she is trying to figure out where her copy is...and I am going to let folks figure it out.
We had our own rules and ways of doing things...they will continue on.
My role just changed, just never thought I would be at this spot...
More to responsible firearm ownership than firearms
Yep!
