Underwood .38 Special +P

Anybody using this stuff in their snubs?

I've heard nothing but good things about their auto loader ammo so I though I'd add a few boxes to the pile of carry ammo for the Airweight. This is the 125gr +P JHP. Anybody know what type of bullet they use on their .38's? They do have some Gold Saber .38's but I've got plenty of the originals in the safe. Advertised velocity is 1000 fps but the barrel length was not specified (I imagine it's a 4 inch)

So anyone have any experience with this load?

Give them a look, 50 round boxes of 125gr. +P JHP for $21 ($31 shipped) seems like a pretty good deal if the ammo performs. I should be heading out to the in laws farm this weekend or the next where I can do some informal testing.

From the few postings I've see, Underwood produces some nice ammo. I'd be interested in hearing back on their .38 +p ammo. $21 is a good price.

Hello all,

I got around to shooting 20 rounds of the Underwood this weekend. Since it was a fathers day BBQ and there was a lot of other people shooting, I didn't get to do any testing like I'd plan to do. I can say that the ammo was very controllable, had minimal flash and was accurate. They advertise 1000fps out of a 3 inch barrel so I think this will be my new carry load. I would highly recommend picking up a box or two.
