I was talking about the scope. My local range has targets out to 1350ish.

But thanks for the invite. If you ever venture down to Phoenix we can go shoot steel at my range.

I've been going to a free public shooting 'pit out near Florence, it's nothing fancy but it's free and you can go out to a few hundred yards pretty easily.

Very interesting, Another rifle on my list of possible next purchases.

I can't stop shooting it. I was out at The Range for five and half hours yeserday. In only its second year in production Benelli/Franchi have developed an unbelievable accurate and quality product.

I have a spotter for this Friday. I'll be testing it out at 5,6,700 yards.

It was the camo pattern and bronze Cerakote that lured me in, I had no idea these shoot so well. Mine was sort of an impulse buy. I had come in to pick up my Remington 700 Long Range from the repair shop, and after hearing the stories about Remmy and their issues I didn’t want the rifle anymore. They offered me close to what I paid for it towards a new rifle on the rack and zeroed out the repair charge towards the Franchi. Happy customer here!

That's so awesome.

Nothing like excellence in customer service. That`s how you get repeat customers for life, not to mention new customers via word of mouth.

Thought you had bought a spotting scope

I had bought a Leupold Spotting Scope for around $500 and returned it the next day. I was not impressed at all. I'm sorry but I don't know the specifications. I was green then.

What about the spotter didn't you like? Just not as clear as you thought it would be? May need to spend more money, glass is one of those things where more money does get better results.

I couldn't even see 500 yards with a splatter target.

I'm about to buy this Vortex

Dude, we told you a month and a half ago, there isn’t a spotting scope which can see holes in splatter targets at 500 yards.

I'm about to buy this Vortex

This Razor will also fail your expectations, because what you’re expecting is unrealistic.

We’re trying to lead a horse to water, here… lots of us have been there, done this, do it every week. What you’re asking isn’t real.

Then how do you see that far?

Same answer I offered a month ago in your other thread:

How do we keep track at 500-1000? Spotters [people, not just glass] and steel targets. Reactive targets tell you where they were hit, high, low, left, right… splash in the dirt tells you if it was a miss. Flashers on targets help too - I’ll often put a big check target downrange with smaller targets which challenge my raw precision at that distance, so if I can hit the big target and see how it swings, then I’ll adjust to center up, then see if the group is tight enough to hold onto the little targets too. Bullet wake/trace can show impacts if your spotters are skilled at watching it.

Or you have guys working the butts downrange and plugging [spotting disks] into your bullet holes.

OR you have electronic targets or target cameras.

That Vortex can be found on sale, I linked to it, as well as the last model.

It will do a fine job for you, but it will also teach you a spotting scopes limitations in poor conditions.

Or try this Tract 15X binocular.

In the 95 degree Alabama heat it gets tough with the mirage to even see steel plate movement, so flashers on steel targets are nice way out there, and even they can be tough if the conditions are real bad.

This is what 1,300 yards looks like.

Beautiful set up. Lights go off when you hit the targets.

THAT is what it takes to see what’s going on at that range! Splatter targets need not apply. Nice to have infrastructure like that available.

Absolutely gorgeous. I'm so fortunate to have a club like this. There was a two year waiting list.

400 yards with a Spotter. I need more practice.

55grain, 223 re-roads
