when I last spoke too our membership, I mentioned that my employer
had just purchased a very nice collection of old S&W and a few Colt
handguns from an estate in Chicago. It has taken some time for him
to actually break-down the cost of each item; and subsquently the
final sale price, to you John Q. Public. I last spoke with him on Friday
(26th Sept. 08), and he hopes to have all this completed with week's
end (3 Oct. '08). I did manage to show two examples from this most
beautiful collection to an old gentleman last Thursday, 25 Oct. '08.
These were two S&W .41 magnum caliber revolver's; example A) was
a 4" factory nickle model 57 in the presentation case with all tools,
while example B) was a 4" original blued model 58 Military & Police
model in the original blue box with hinged corners. Both weapons
are absolutely marvalous in appearance; and either carries a price
tag of $995.00. Hopefully, I will see the rest of this collection by
weeks end~? ;) :D

FooteNote: The old gentleman passed on the two old S&W's as it
was too much for his blood pressure; opting instead for a .40 cal
Glock model 23; so we still have these old S&W .41 magnums. They
are great weapons, as I had a 4" blued model 57 myself; and it was
the first weapon I ever handloaded for, way back in the fall/winter
of 1972. I would love too pass these great firearms on to the hands
of a deserving THR member, that I know will take TLC of 'em; and
pass 'em on to the next generation~!

Guy's you would have too see these "gems" before making final judgement~!

At least that is my humble opinion, as these are of collector grade
quality. Yes, $995 is a tad much for me also; especailly with the
price of gasoline holding near the $4.00 per gallon mark, as I own
two vechiles that I have too feed. Previously, I mentioned that I
am wanting a price on a S&W model 27-2 with 3.5" barrel in the
mahogany presentation case; and a 3" S&W (old model) 60 .38
Special with adjustable sights and fancy grips. I'm still waiting
on a confirmation price on these as well. Like I said, I will not
be able to afford both of these fine weapons; but somehow
(and in this case, someway), I will try and find a way to swing
the deal on the N-frame model 27. Many thanks to our member-
ship here, as they convinced me this is the one to choose; if
the price isn't out rageous. ;)
