I've got a standard A2. I'm surprised it doesn't say Mattel on it, because it feels like it should. But I just put on what I got in my LPK and figured I'd upgrade later.

Of course, there are a few options out there.:p

I'd love to hear likes/dislikes of Ergo, Hogue, etc. from those who have them.

Buttstock opinions also appreciated, if you've got 'em.

I have the standard Ergo grip on my M&P15T and love it. It's very comfortable yet maintains the class of the rifle (it's not "bling").

I've used a bunch of different ones. My favorite is the Ergo with the gapper. I hate that gap on a regular grip. It rubs the crap out of my finger over long term use.

The Magpul Miad is really neat, and totally configurable.

i have ergo on one rifle, miad on another and stock on a 3rd. i can't decide which one i like best.

I have the Hogue, no gapper yet but I'm getting a RRA winter trigger guard that fills the gap. I like the Hogue.

I use Ergo rigid ambi grips and plain old A2 grips on my rifles.
The Gapper piece that fills the space behind the trigger guard now comes with the Ergo grips.
I am too cheap to spend more than twenty bucks on a pistol grip for an AR.

I like the Tango Down Battle grip. Convenient storage space, comes with a piece that makes the gapper unnecessary and no finger swell.

I prefer the Miad with the trigger guard built into the front strap, and the fat back strap. I have big hands, so this config feels just right to me.

I like the Ergo and the Hogue. Both feel great. Can't say I have a preference really. To me though, the Hogue looks weird on a 20" rifle so I always use Ergos on them and use the Hogues on carbines.

But then, I like the old A1 grip too.

I use the Ergo grip, like it quite abit. Other options out there work well, too, though. It's probably one of those "which one fits your hand?" deals, though all the ones I've tried are an improvement over the stock PG.

My favorite is the Sierra Precision SPR grip followed by the Magpul MIAD with the biggest backstrap. The MIAD is more ambi friendly; but I really like the palm swell in the SPR grip.

The other nice thing about the MIAD (apart from three different backstraps and your choice of front finger groove or smooth) is all the different cores that let you stash AA, 123 batteries, extra ammo, or a bolt and firing pin in the handle.

other things you can stash in there...

form 1 or other class 3 paperwork
stuck/broken case extractor
or my personal fav...
those tiny little bottles of machine gunner's lube

Another vote for the magpul MIAD grips, fits large hands well on the largest backstrap, and still can have the A2 style finger groove (or no groove if that floats your boat)

no opinion on stocks, in NY the only functional option is the A2 fixed, but there's nice storage in there and it's more sturdy than the standard A4 collapsible... then if you get into the ACE skeleton, magpul PRS (drool), and Vltor stocks... oh it never ends...

My favorite is the Magpul, along with the Magpul enhanced trigger guard.

Hello

My favorite for comfort is the Seirra SPR grip(only if your a righty). Next the MagPul MIAD, Tango Down, followed by Hogue.
Looks wise I think the Tango Down wins, followed by MIAD and then SPR.

Good Luck

Just put a Ergo grip on mine I love it it's so much better than the stock grip. It also has a storage compartment built into it

Fair warning about Ergo grip storage capacity,,,,,there isn't much space in there.
You won't be able to keep a spare bolt and firing pin along with lunch from the buffet, but there is enough room for some spare gas rings, a spare extractor assembly and pin, and a 1/16" mini punch.

Just the same I keep a punch on my vest that carries all my cleaning gear and spares so the amount of storage space in a grip is a non issue with me.

What type of grip is on the Norinco AR-15 clones from the early 80s? That would be a unique thing to put on your rifle.

I have Ambi Ergo Suregrips on all of my AR15's (actually, one has a RH one on it). By far my favorite grip.

It is a personal choice though.

The Tango Down grip is my favorite. The storage is really we designed and the grip has a profile that seems to fit most hands really well.
