I'm thinking about taking the scope off of my Marlin Model 60 and putting some better iron sights on it. I really don't like the notch sights that come on it. I've done some looking and found tech-sights, which look like exactly what I would want.

Are there any other options for upgraded sights, maybe any that are a little cheaper?

Thanks for any help

I did exactly that a couple of years ago. I took the old 4x power scope off of my Model 60 and replaced the factory sights with some tech sights. They are a huge upgrade over the factory irons. Peep sights can be a little tough to use in lower-light situations, but that's the only disadvantage I've seen.

I highly recommend them.

I love my Tech Sights on my Marlin 60 (and SKS). Worth the money in my opinion. Wish they where available for some of my other rifles.

I did have a problem with the rear sight sliding on the rail like most scopes do with this style rail. But I fixed it by putting a "drop" of JB weld between the sight and rail. Shouldn't be to hard to remove if the need arises, but I do not see that happening.

ok, thanks for the responses. The tech-sights look nice, I'm just wondering if there is a slightly cheaper similar option out there.

Tech Sights are excellent, spend the extra coin and get them. Really, $69 is cheap for a good quality set of front AND rear sights. A Williams Foolproof, which is also excellent, will cost more than that for only the rear.

I just ordered them. After doing some more looking it looks like this is the best option. Most other options are just a rear sight so I would have to buy a front sight separately and it would end up being more of a hassle and more expensive. I'm actually really excited about this purchase. Can't wait to get them in and get a shooting sling and get better at off hand shooting with my Marlin

I have a Williams receiver sight and Williams ramp front on my Model 60

I like the set up but probably would have bought Tech Sights if they were available when I put this thing together, I don't know of anybody who has ever complained of the quality or any issues with them. HTH

wcoats,

I think that you will be pleasantly surprised by how much better you will shoot with good iron sights. Particularly snap shots, they put the fun back into plinking and hunting. Scopes have their place on dedicated target rifles, but for a good general purpose .22 Tech sights are the way to go.

well the Tech-Sights are on order, can't wait to get them in and give them a try

Just ordered a set today myself. I have the stainless steel model 60. I hope they don't look "weird".

So wcoats, how do you like 'em?
