I have purchased an average of 8 firearms from FFL dealers per year for the past 5 or 6 years and experienced my first delay today. It was a Walmart purchase and the lady doing it was not too happy about it as she really wanted to go to lunch so I figure she probably messed up the information. Several purchases ago a dealer told me I was almost delayed because I was in the system twice which he didn't understand and I always use my SSN on the form.
What is involved in getting a UPIN and is it worth the effort?
