I picked up a Cavalry Arms MKII lower w/ a stag LPK for a lightweight KISS AR build. Now I'm waffling between two BCM uppers and a Spikes:

- Standard 14.5" Mid Length w/ permanently installed PWS FSC556 comp http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-14-5-Mid-Length-Upper-Receiver-Group-p/bcm-urg-mid-14.htm

- Standard 16" Mid Length (LIGHT WEIGHT) http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BCM-URG-MID-16LW&CartID=1

- Spikes Tactical Complete Mid-Length http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XSTU5035&groupid=55

I really wanted the 14.5 lightweight middy, but it's out of stock:( I figure the 14.5 w/ the M4 barrel profile will be about the same weight as the 16" lightweight, so overall weight will not be an issue between the two BCM's. The spikes is a 16" M4 profile so it should be the heaviest of the three by a few oz's. My biggest concern is if the mid length gas system is as reliable as the carbine gas system in a 14.5" barrel?

As far as $$$ go, the Spikes is a steal at $475 OTD. The 14.5" BCM will run $675 and the 16" BCM will be $570.

Any thought's about these these uppers or alternatives?
