This is the prevailing mood in Saratoga County in upstate NY. This is the place where one of the most pivotal battles of the War of American Independence was fought and won.

This is part of the district where NY assembly member Jim Tedisco stood on the Assembly floor with a copy of the Constitution in his hand and told his fellow legislators what a mistake this law was.

This is part of the district where freshman NY senator Kathy Marchione had a petition on her NY sponsored website before the Assembly had even passed the measure.

This is a place where sheriffs deputies can make their feeling known in a public statement like this. Here is just a little bit of one of the tamer paragraphs:

"We encourage members of the legislature to hold hearings where the public is afforded the right to participate in the legislative process, to address the issue of gun violence in a way that might actually produce meaningful results, and to stop holding law-abiding citizens who choose to exercise their rights under the Second Amendment hostage for the criminal behavior of another, and the political aspirations of the Governor."

Cuomo, Silver, Skelos, Lentol, et al - in this upstate county, our elected officials, our law enforcement and many law abiding citizens are standing up against what you have done. We will not lay down and quietly watch while our civil rights are trampled underfoot.

Glad to hear that only New York City is nuts.... Not all of New York state..... I applaud them standing up for their 2A rights
