Sorry about being a n00b but I've looked around and I really like what I see so I was hoping someone could lend me a hand and answer a simple question for me:

I'm looking to buy a standard Walther PPK really soon but I have the opportunity to buy some very nice wood grips RIGHT NOW that the seller claims are for a Walther PPK/S. The thing is that everything I've seen (including the height, width and length specs on the official Walther site) say that there is no difference in size between the PPK and its variation gun, the PPK/S. Does anyone know if grips for a PPK/S will fit a PPK?

I can't wait to do more posting and become an active member of this fine board. Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

It's been a while, but if memory serves me correctly, which it may not, I think that on has a wrap around grip (PPK), and one has a two piece grip (PPK/S).

I could be wrong, though...

Update: I just went to Hogue's site- getgrip.com- they have two separate part numbers- 1 for PPK, 1 for PPK/S.

Looks like my failing memory may have been somewhat correct...

I took a closer look at some pictures and I think you're exactly right, which at first I thought was kind of unfortunate for me, but maybe having another round in the clip wouldn't be so bad. Just to throw another question out there:

What would be the typical difference in price between a PPK and a PPK/S (both .380 ACP)?

The model PPK/S has a PPK upper on a PP frame. It came about after 1968 when further importation of the PPK was banned because it was too small. So to make an importable pistol Walther created the PPK/S

Later, Walther arranged to have true PPK pistols manufactured in the United States, rather then importing them, and this was legal too do.

Your PPK/S uses the same magazines and grips as the model PP, and wood ones are available.

As have been said the PPK grip is different from the PP grips used on the PPK/S. Personally I like the PPK/S because it's just a little larger and is the right size for me with the finger rest.
