I know there are many threads on this subject, but I always like to hear from THR on these matters.
Is there any conventional wisdom (vs. hearsay or rumor) on the quality difference, if any, between the Glocks made in USA vs. Austria.
I ask because I'm considering a G19 Gen 5, which I believe can be made in both countries. Reliability is key for me.
Some of the threads indicate that the main parts (slide, frame, etc.) are still made in Austria, and the US-made guns are just assembled here. Others say different.
Any thoughts, in particular with regard to the G19 Gen 5? (Based on facts or experience, please.)
Thanks!

Nope. I've not noticed any difference in where the Glock was made.

Some had complained about the finishes on the Gen 3s and 4s between the countries but my experience didn't reflect that.

I believe all the Gen 5s have the same finish now anyway.

I think the finish may be "different". But that doesn't mean better or worse.

Have heard some rumbling’s on customer service or lack thereof on some of the other pistol enthusiasts sites. My first 19 purchased in 2018 so I don’t have any older ones to compare, but I’m in for additional info if anyone has it

I was given a G19 a few yrs back from my sister who was given it by her D.C. police job back in 1989. She shot it according to her 100 rds.then put it back in the box.I got it and found it would shoot left a common complaint of glock. But after many rounds of trying to determine if it was me or the gun I saw it was the gun. So sent it in and found the frame was cracked. The armorer said he would go over the gun and replace other parts that needed it.This solved the problem and the gun is great and accurate. This almost 30 yrs later and it didn't cost a thing. So wherever the new models come from I wouldn't worry just get the one you want. They will shoot reliably.

I have a Gen 4 Austrian 30 and Gen 4 USA 26 & 17. No difference IMO.
