Right on Trisha!

likely his niece was given his fathers' puukko

Now, I'm not Finnish, but that is a real insult if I ever heard one :D

Bah, I'm sick and tired of our clueless media being taken as testimony to the thoughts and politics of all Scandinavians/Nothern Europeans here on THR :banghead: . Would you all like it if I were to consider CNN the official "spokeschannel" of all Americans, my friends on THR included? No?

I always crack up at the description of bugeyed European tourists getting a peek at your carryguns, though  . I realize that we have been sending a lot of sheeple tourists your way, and unfortunately I have not visited the US myself yet. Wish I could afford to gather all my shooting buddies (among which I count M67) and take the "grand American tour". Maybe we could hook up with some THRers for a range tour and a BBQ... Furriners buy the beer? I promise you we would

- NOT freak over the sight of a gun on your hips
- NOT freak over you cleaning your gun in livingroom (we might offer to help, though)
- NOT offer any thoughts on why you should not be allowed to carry your gun any where you would wish to
- Wonder where you kept your silencers?
- Try not to whip your US asses on the 300m rifle range with peep sights :neener: (Ok, I might be asking for trouble with this one)

Sorry about the rant, I'm stuck inside finishing up my blasted M.Sc. thesis and haven't been to the range for about a month.
Bear with me ...

Be seing you in a couple of weeks, M67. I'll bring my thesis to the range, and see how well it stands up to some fast flying arguments ...

hey non, maybe if you want to work yourself slowly into america, you should come visit me in berkeley first, the politics are pretty similar to Scandinavia :)

...you should come visit me in berkeley first...

Hey atek, that sounds like a good idea. Whale is served everywhere in California isn't it? I wouldn't want the culture shock to overwhelm me ... :p

Actually, I was thinking Texas :D. I hear the BBQ grills are huge there ...

"I met one really weird guy in America so all Americans are like that".

I think that about sums up his article.

As I have understood things, in Finnland you can get a pistol when you are 15, with your parents premission.
They also have lots of semi and full auto rifles, and Glock 18 on civilian hands.
[Please correct me if I got some of this wrong!]
