How Bad Do You Want It?
Here in Miami, I paid almost $600 for my new CS9. Its really classic supply and demand. They are extremely hard to get, at least locally. I have seen a few CS40's, but these have been discontinued for a few years now. I know that I paid high, but I wanted new, not used. S&W has a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. (Although I have heard that they have been freindly to second owners too). Anyway, in my mind I justified my price as follows:
1. I got it right on the spot (Florida CHL - no waiting period) and I got what I saw - not a photo on the web.
2. No FFL transfer fee
3. I get the free Magnum range bag (worth $42) (for those who dont know about this):

4. I support my local gun store
Anyway, the pistol is sweet. 7 + 1, 2 magazines, easily concealed. Nice weight and feel in my hands. TDA meaning after you rack, gun is cocked and ready to fire. SA after that. If you decide not to shoot and decock, then first round is DA then SA after. Gun cannot be carried cocked and locked.
No FTF or FTE after my first 100 rounds. Reasonable accurate for a 3" barrel. Recoil = minimal. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase.
Good luck. If you decide to pick one up, you wont be disappointed.
