I found a used Remington 1100 Tactical. It looks like it's hardly ever been shot. There are some signs of potential rust starting to form near the bead site. What are these worth? Are they reliable? I may try my hand at a 3 gun competition someday. Will a Remington 1100 be able to hold it's own against the FNH SLP's and Benelli M3' and M4's?

Prices vary by region; best broad market price indicator is checking actual sales at Gunbroker, Auctionarms and GunsAmerica. There's one near me for mid-$600s, which I though was possibly on the low side.

Assuming the bead is on the usual Remington pedestal, the "rust" is probably brazing or similar between the pedestal and the barrel. I would guess that you'd have to get pretty far advanced to "outgrow" (or, outshoot) the 1100 relative to an SLP or M3. You might check the BrianEnos forums to see what 3-gun gamers think over there, too.
