I got to looking at my collection of rifles and realized that I have more in 7.62x39 than I really want, time for some new calibers. The Saiga is the only one that I am willing to part with right now. So, does anyone know what it might be worth? It has the 20 inch barrel, six magazines, side scope mount(no scope), and I have only had it to the range twice.

...and if anyone posts something silly like "Its only worth $5, I'll send you a check for the full amount", I vote for extreme sanctions.

Except for me illustrating a point, of course.

Haycreek, it is one of the newer "politically correct" ones that only takes the 10 round magazines(although it isn't hard to convert it to take the regular AK magazines). It was imported by EAA. Here is a picture of one (not mine).

I paid 200$ for the 16" barrel. Your 6 magazine's should bump the price up though.

The average price of a New Saiga in 7.62x39 is in the neighborhood of $250. Add $100 for one in .308.

Depending on the condition a used one would run for about $200. The extra mags and scope mount would bump the price back up to $250.

Used Saiga

I have a new one, imported by EAA, 16 " barrel, chambered for .223, sure do like it, won't take for it ! It is more accurate with 64 gr bullets, it likes heavy bullets due to the fast [1 in 9 twist] It is a leap ahead of the Ruger mini-14 that I compare it to.

Thanks, I found someone that is interested in it. Now I kinda have an idea of what to ask for it. Thanks again.

Well CDNN has them for $159+transfer fee ($35)=$195 + 6mags @ $16ea =$96 + $195 = $291 for new stuff...

So I'd say that for all this barely used sold "under the table" I'd say that $250 is reasonable enough... Its up to you.
