Used Sig P226 made in 1988.. (90-95%) What is it worth???

Trying to see what a Sig P226 9mm with no rail with Normal sights is worth. The gun is in nice condition and with original owner and all original paperwork and made in west germany... It has the G coat for wear from that time, but think it is standard on guns nows. It is a nice gun, but not sure what it is worth.... I would say it is 90%-%95 condition. Has had maybe 100 rounds through it. Mosty just sits in his safe.

i paid about 500 for a used 1987 Sig 220.

i believe 220s generally get a few extra bucks in America cause of the .45 factor.

so id say 450-500

Depending on where you are, I'd say between $450~$575, primarily due to the "west german" bit if you hype it right.

That's a pretty tough call. I bought one that's probably near identical from Bud's for $369. with night sights and finish wear.

I was surprised to find that the sights are pretty bright, the finish looks fine after a quick cold blueing. Spring, rollpin, and now it's one of my favorite large pistols. I'd have paid $500. or more if I'd known how easily the gun would recover because it's a great easy shooting 9mm pistol now.

Mine was a German police turnin, Yours would be a probably lightly used original with all the documentation? Go $500. or a little more if need be - you won't regret it.

Those prices are way to low. I do not see many P226 9mm in my area and after some research have found that 550 - 575 is a good price on a mint Sig P226. Even 600 is not horriable price.
First of all they are rarely found in mint shape and the 400 - 500 dollar guns are police trade ins or have alot of wear.
One thing this thread did was disappoint me in Sig, that a $800 dollar gun that has been well taken care and barely used of is worth 400 - 450.
This is agreat gun and if you can find a excellant to mint gun for that kind of price you better buy it.
They are not worth what I thought they would be and a gun this good should hold better value. Thats my opinion and this is not my first rodeo !!

I just looked at a new 226 9mm yesterday for 659.00. Nice gun, too big for my hand though.

I paid $450.00 for my LE trade in German 226 back in 1998. It was in exellant condition. Very minor holster wear on the muzzle.

With the devalued dollar and current gun buying hype, your freinds should bring well over $500.00...

If he'd sell it for $500-$550 I'd say you were getting a fair deal.

I'll go along with that one and add that Brett30030 is a generous person indeed. I would probably substite 60-70% for his 70-80%.

CLosed... Yes I know what 90-95% is. The gun had zero wear signs, all original, and no more then 100 rounds fired... That is 90-95%

I paid $450 for a circa 1994 220 about 4 years ago FWIW. I'd say that would be a fair price for an old 226.
