Used Sig P229 in 9 MM ?

At the Md. gun show there was dealer selling three used P229's each for $429
. They were turn-ins from police officers and had holster wear and minor scratches.The dealer said that they were actually fired very little with nice barrels.One high capacity mag. came with each pistol.
Is this a good deal ?
Brand new they sell for around $825 ......

Depending on condition, that sounds like a pretty decent deal for a used p229. Swiss 228s were recently running at $479 good condition up to $499 VG condition (2 mags), and those sold out fast (like, in hours).

sigman, that sounds like a good deal to me. I was at the Timonium show but was trying NOT to look too closely at the guns. If I bring another home the wife will shoot me with it. I've already got a bi-tone 229 with NP3 coating.

If you don't mind, can you say which dealer had these. I don't want one, just want to know who was selling at a reasonable price. Reasonable gun prices are rare around Baltimore as you probably already know.
