Perhaps cleaning was not sufficient and residual lube/grime is sticking to everything?stuff sticks to everything!
If surface has been sufficiently cleaned, once dry, it shouldn't be sticky.

....I too have to agree. While it may be minute, it still may cause harm to something down the road. I toss mine in the trash with the rest of the garbage. Why anyone would want to dump it (with all the lead and other toxins) in their yard or garden is beyond me.
No, it's clean. When damp it sticks but then once dry it's not heavy enough on its own to just fall.Perhaps cleaning was not sufficient and residual lube/grime is sticking to everything?

Just don't contaminate the lobster fishery. The rest be darned.I don't bother clean my dry media, it's cheap enough to replace after all.
All our trash is incinerated to make electricity so I just toss my used media in the trash. It'll burn and the scrubbers on the smoke stacks will keep the enviroment safe.

I was gonna offer to have a bag shipped to you….WHAT A MESS!!!
HahaI was gonna offer to have a bag shipped to you….
Maybe spread it out on a pan and put it in the oven? Wait 'till she's out of the house, she won't know! Some of this stuff is STILL damp!
I was thinking of the gas grill but media & by extension, brass would then smell like baby back ribs.Maybe spread it out on a pan and put it in the oven? Wait 'till she's out of the house, she won't know!
