I just visited my buddy that has the local gun shop in town and purchased a Winchester Super Sport (blued) with a Simmons Whitetail 3X9 scope in .243 WSSM. He said the guy was short on cash and needed to sell it. The tag my friend had on the rifle was $365 and I think I can twist his arm a bit and get a few more buck off. The rifle is in like new condition. It could not have been fired very much at all.
I'm thinking that loaded with a bullet in the 70 to 80 grain range it would be a dandy coyote rifle that I could carry in my pickup. I think the price is right and the relaoding manual claims you get up to 3500 fps with a 70 grain boattail. I've got no personal experince with any of the WSSM rounds though, but everything I've read has pretty much been positive. I do hear that they are kind of a pain to reload for though.
Who has experince with the round and how do you like it? I'm comfortable with the price as a new in the box without a scope goes for about $560. It feels really good as far as lenght of pull goes and rise of the comb. It should perfrom well if I can find an accurate load. Any thoughts?
