after running the machine for about a month we have now settled on a target OAL of .565". Tolerances allow for a little variation but the vast majority of them are within one to two thousandths. This can vary based on the tolerances of the copper strip though. Our copper strip is .023" thick but it is apparent that keeping it perfect throughout an entire roll is impossible. When the copper gets thick our OAL increases a little. When it gets thin it decreases a little. So, it is possible that within the same lot the OAL could vary +/- .004 thousandths with the vast majority of them being perfect.
For decades, I used Montana Gold jacketed bullets for match shooting due to weight variance of less than 1 grain and they were my quality standard reference. Jake, your Hardcore Match plated bullets already exceed that standard and if you are getting less than that with 115 gr FMJ, I am impressed. Really look forward to doing accuracy testing with 115 gr FMJ carbine loads.

With 5% THR discount, 115 gr HM plated RN is already around $74/1000 but 115 gr FMJ is unbelievable $75/1000 shipped with increasing discount for larger quantities.

For 4000 bullets, pricing comes down to "Jake, are you out of your THR mind?" price of $72.67/1000 shipped! That's CHEAPER than shipped lead bullet pricing for FMJ bullet! Holy John Moses Browning!

(If you are in the market for 9mm bullets, stock up now before Jake comes to his senses and adjusts the price up. :D)

In fact, I may now use 115 gr FMJ as my primary 9mm carbine bullet instead of 100/115 gr HM RN I was very happy with - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=10245856#post10245856

Jake, in post #21, the micrometer reading for bullet diameter shows 0.35555".

Is that the intended diameter or .355"?

I for one would prefer 115 gr FMJ with shorter bullet base to be slightly larger diameter for greater neck tension which could reduce bullet setback to produce more consistent chamber pressures and muzzle velocities.

That is the intended diameter. Most guys will tell you that .3555 is ideal for 9mm. I personally like .357 but lots of guys would really be upset if I were to make them like that.

Great thread and videos,

For general range use and defensive handgun training/practice, would the fmj or plated from rmr be a better choice? Cost is essentially equal, glock guns, be86 powder, looking for accuracy and function? The greater the accuracy the happier i am, but then again these are not "premium match bullets" if such a thing exists for handguns, yet THR gets great accuracy from the plated bullets and RMR has an excellent reputation for high quality gear. I am sure ill be thrilled with either choice

Loaded 503 of em

I had three extras bullets in the bag and I had three not so well loaded cases so I ended up with exactly 500 quality rounds here. Nothing wrong with a single bullet, just that my cases were a bit tighter than I like so they'll get shot off one at a time or pulled and put in another case.
I hope to shoot a bunch in the near future.
I don't see any reason not to think they wouldn't live up to my expectations. I'll report on how they shoot.
Gotta love those Rocky Mountain Reloading bullets.

Not much of an update but nevertheless .....
The three rounds I shot were fine. They hit the center of the paper at 7 yds. My load is a medium plus charge and I am glad I am sitting on the rest knowing they should perform nicely.

I liked the 2,000 I ordered earlier so well, I ordered another 4,000 yesterday. Jake says they're running a few days behind with shipping, due to the high demand, but I don't mind waiting. I've still got the first 2,000 to finish loading........

Op here,

I have 4,000 on the way. Based on what I have seen in this thread, I think I am going to be happy with these. There may be more in the near future as I plan to increase from a two year supply to some larger number ;)

First time poster here, but have used xtreme since I started reloading. I found RMR while trying to save a few bucks. I order 1k 223 just to see the quality and was impressed. I knew then I had found a new supplier especially when I seen you could save 5% in addition to the already low prices. I joined this site after seeing a few posts while doing searches in the past and figured to keep the discount going should pop in here from time to time.
