Using 9mm Tokarev with 7.62x25 mags?

It seems the 9mm Tok uses the 7.62x25 mag but with a modified follower and spacer at the rear of the magazine. My question is will 9mm feed from the 7.62 mags?

Saw a 9mm Tok at last week's gun show, but held off for magazine price and availability worries. If 9mm gun works with the 7.62 mags I'd likely get as this dealer should be at the Pasadema show this weekend and I've plenty of 7.62x25 Tokarev magazines.

If the tok is priced well, I would buy it anyway.
Good luck. The last time I lived in Pasadena, TX the whole city had a funky smell to it. I think it was paper factories or something. Have fun, hope the gun is still there.

The 9mm Norincos were set up two ways:
One uses a narrower magazine with a spacer pinned in the magazine well.
The other, as you know, uses the 7.62x25 magazine with a modified follower and spacer.
I would be hesitant to use unmodified 7.62x25 magazines to feed 9mm as both type magazines can be found with relative ease on the internet. The narrow ones are in the $18-25 range. I haven't priced the others.
The magazine's condition (still should feed easily) is not as critical on Tokarevs (as on 1911s) because the feed lips are built into the pistol.

I wouldn't be hesitant at all if they worked which is what I'm asking. I'd only be interested in buying the pistol if my existing 7.62x25 mags worked. This 9mm Tok did not use the narrow mags which is why I was interested in it. This is just a range toy, for me to give this pistol to someone for defense usage we'd be way beyond SHTF and into Mad Max scenarios

Now I remember hearing someone who used a 7.62 mag for 9mm, but the last round some times failed to load. He did not use it for anything but a toy with those mags. As far as I have heard, the answer is yes. The mags may be used, but are often unreliable.

I would personally not feel under-gunned carrying a Norinco 9mm with 9mm mags. But as you said this is a range toy.

I have a 213 and it's a solid, dependable, simple, accurate, thin & flat 9 MM pistol. It's with me most days. A range toy? Why is this a range toy?

I have a pair of Polish TT-33 pistols. One I have kept in 7.62 and in the other I installed a 9mm barrel with no other modifications. The 9mm functions flawlessly with the original mags. I have had only one issue and that was wth hydroshock subsonics failing to feed.
