I really like the grip on USP compact .45, but I would like the larger capacity and barrel length of the full size. My question is, it the grip on the full-size just longer? If it is wider, that might be problematic as I have smallish hands.

Other double stack 45s like Glocks don't work for me, the the feel of the USP compact, and I'm really hoping the full size is just longer, not wider.

I don't have the dimensions at my fingertips, but when I bought my USP45c I thought the full-size USP was too big for my small hands. So I went with the compact and have never regretted it.

The grip on the full size USP is wider and longer than that of the USP Compact.

In addition, full size USP magazines will not fit in a USP Compact.
Full size USP utilize a double stack magazine and USP Compacts use a 1.5 stack magazine.

You may want to wait for the HK-45 to be released. Sometime in Q4 2007. It'll have a 10 round capacity but have a thinner grip than the full size USP.

Follow up question

How does the full size USP grip compare to an XD 45? I held an XD awhile back and thought the grip was small enough. Is the full size USP smaller or bigger?

Waiting for the 45 sounds like a good idea, but I would prefer the USP just because there are already lots of holsters available and I can get a used one at a good price.
