Groovy, they did run our story!

All the indoor footage, and all the footage of .22 pistols, is from the UT Austin campus range.

There are short bits of a half-dozen different THR members in there.

I think we came across pretty well overall. The Million Mom lady sounded dippy. The Brady Campaign guy didn't sound bad, but didn't sound good either; he was totally on the defensive for his entire bit.

Oh, the girl they interviewed has been back to the range several times, and bringing friends with her each time.

Our event appears to have been a success. Now we'll just see if this brings us more traffic.

Why does every dippy reporter feel the need to refer to it as "packing heat"?

I'm surprised they didn't manage to use the terms "gat" and "roscoe" into the report! :barf:

Reporter: And can you discribe the shooting to us?
Witness: Well you see daddy-o, there was this one scarry looking cat and he had all these mean looking dolls with him. Then he started talkin jive about bullets and triggers and such. When he gave the word, they all hopped up on the hot-line, whipped out their zip-guns, and started blasting away like gang-busters.:neener:

Despite the reporter wanting to hold on to 1940's era slang, the video looked pretty good.

WAY TO REPRESENT, YO! :D

"They believe that self-defense is a basic human right."

Go Oleg!

The MMM woman was incoherent and passive. "the gun industry has brainwashed people into thinking they need a gun to protect themselves." :barf: Riiiight.

"The Brady Campaign is not against keeping guns from women." :barf: Riiiiight.

I really liked the shot of the woman's hands, pink nail polish and all, showing how to load a magazine.

Glad that safety was emphasized throughout.

I find the usual media silliness:

1. Since when are guns registered in Texas?

2. Why are they interviewing the blissninnies at the Million Mommies or the Brady Campaign in running a story about women shooting? How many shooters have the Million Mommies or Bradys trained?

3. I love the Brady guy talking about self-defense and the Mommies talking about "access laws" in Texas. Yeah, bet they lock up their fire extinguishers down there as well.

4. The Brady Campaign is nothing but disarming the comman man. Why did this mouthpiece think otherwise.

Bah! Media silliness!

Anywho, good to see THR on the air and training the multitudes. You guys looked fantastic compared to that news clip from Kansas that was on THR.

good exposure but it didnt really point out that UT has a pistol and rifle club. it almost sounded like a sales pitch for a CHL instructor in the Austin area in some aspects. but overall a plus for the pro-gunners in Austin.

Good coverage! I was taking Bus # 19 home on Wed night and started talking to an Army ROTC student. He did not even know there was a range at UT. He promised to stop in with several other ROTC students in the near future.

Go Oleg!

Oleg was kind enough to let the ladies borrow his slogan and some of his work for their website back when they got started in 1999.

I had the pleasure of building their first website and fielding calls for info and interviews in the days leading up to the SAS-AIM counter rally in DC in 2000.

I am glad that they are still going strong, unlike the million morons march that died out in short order because of dip****s like the woman in the interview. hehehe
