So I was browsing the Virginia citizen defense league page and saw a link http://www.vcdl.org/static/gue.html#Richbrau Brewing Co. that listed gun unfriendly businesses.:D
Well being the frequenter of brew pubs all over the country:p I saw a near local favorite brew pub on their list.:what: The complaint read
Ignoring the fact that permit holders are among the most law abiding people in the Commonwealth, Richbrau owner Mike Byrne has decided to ban all guns in his restaurant. One has to wonder how many people have been harmed at his restaurant, and on the way home by firearms, as contrasted with the number harmed as a result of the alcohol he serves?

Nope I am the one who is mistaken on this topic

Sorry folks

The owner of this establishment had to ban firearms from his place because it is a Va state law that you can not carry in a resturant that serves alcohol.

That is incorrect. State law prohibits concealed carry in establishments that serve alcohol. But open carry is perfectly legal. If Richbrau bans all guns, then they are in fact gun unfriendly and the VCDL is entirely correct.

What bothers me is this so called Virginia citizen defense league is ignorant of the law.
RNB65's point aside, the VCDL may be one of the best and most effective pro-concealed carry organizations there is, if not the best (actually I think it is). I'd encourage you to find out more about them. You might learn more about state law and be able to help make things better for concealed carry in your state.

Oh ok I had always been told that you could not. I stand corrected on that issue. However When I last visited Richbrau there were no indicators of no guns allowed.
Thanks to RNB65 for the correct information on this. I am still upset that they are on the list though its a cool place to get a good beer.
