Is there any kind of restriction on what kind of optic can be used for hunting in VA? I've looked at the VA fish and game site, and didn't see anything, but that doesn't mean there is no law. I know some states say no lighted reticle and such. I'm not looking to hunt with night vision or anything, but I've seen some red dot scopes I'd be interested in and just want to make sure it is legal before I get one.

Nope. But if you're really worried about it, they're pretty good about getting back to you if you e-mail them with a question such as that. I had a question about some public land a few years back and they got back to me within a day.

Your good to go. Lock and load. If you hunting coyotes after shooting hours during deer season, give your local game warden a heads up. It'll save you heartache later.
