VA Nonresident Concealed Handgun Permits

Howdy, folks!

I applied for a VA nonresident CHP. I am aware that the VA State Police has 45 days to process the application.

Here are my questions:
(1) Does anyone here have information as to how long it is actually taking to get the permit?
(2) Is the VA State Police routinely slow or are they pretty quick (30 days or less)?
(3) Does issuance of the permit proceed faster if you have no criminal record whatsoever?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Mine took less than 30 days last year.
I suspect a criminal record would slow progress to a stop, so yes, a clean record would be faster.

most of the delays I have seen are casued by a name that matches or is close to a BG in NICS.
Not really a lot you can do about it.
