Valiant Bullet Hardness

A widow I know is selling her late husbands reloading supplies prior to selling her house. She's asking what her late husband paid for several boxes of Valiant bullets. There are 9mm, .38, .10mm, .44spl, and .45ACP in various weights and types. They're marked between $14.98 to $19.98 for 500. I've bought 8,000 bullets and will get the remaining 6,000 come payday.

Does anybody know the hardness of these bullets? I can't seem to find a brinell number for them. I'd like to get an idea of velocities to load for.

Load them as you like, just no over max loads and you shouldn't have any problems.

If the prices are on the boxes why is the lady asking what her late husband paid for them?

I've shot a fair amount of Valiant bullets, and while I cannot give you a hardness number on them; I will say that they have always been suitable for the application listed on the box.

Don't go overboard in either velocity extreme and you should be fine.

Reese Teaque, or his wife Rene, told me their bullets are BHM 13. The lead alloy is appropriate for 357 Magnum velocities . I have shot thousands of 44 Magnum Valiant bullets without leading problems.
