In a life and death situation which value 1911 would you feel comfortable with? I am only posting three options as they are the three I am considering buying.

Haven't shot any of those, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with just a name; it would have to prove itself. Any of those could be trust worthy.

my Taurus pt1911 has ate anything I have put in the mag.
Very accurate, no problems, well over 2000 rounds.
would depend on it any time.

I don't own any of the three so I voted RIA based on reputation and my observations of pistols on the range.

I currently trust my life to a Colt.

Spring Field

Spring Field has some thing for all lovers of 1911's they are the only ones I trust with my life.

My PT1911 hasn't had any problems after about 1000 rounds. I have shot 117gr Aguila,WWB FMJ,UMC,Blazer, and Ranger Talon. All function 100%. I do trust mine. Mine also works 100% with cheap aftermarket mags.

haven't owned any of them but from what others have said, i am totally on a whim here i would have to place trust in my fello wgun owners and i would go with the taurus.

I currently have 1911's from SA, RIA and Kimber and have had a Colt in the past. The RIA has been just as reliable as any of them. I haven't tried the other two choices.

Any auto pistol should be shot enough to prove that it works, regardless of who made it. Exactly how many rounds that is, I don't know, and can't really say who is to decide such a thing. Things can and do go wrong, even with a revolver.

You left out "None of the above" as an option.

My vote is None of the above! :scrutiny:

I will trust a gun only after I myself tested it for at least 1,000 rounds of continuous shooting without any failures. All of the listed guns can easily be a winner on that concern.
