looking to sell my newman bros sxs. it's a 12 ga with cyl bores, made in belgium. dated on barrel rib 1872. the barrels have little pits but down the bore about 12'' and are small. the barrels ring nice to. it is a side ever and is pretty tight, no rattle with the forearm off and will cut paper if you close the ation. the fore arm has a repaired crack that looks like a old repair, and is missing to small pieces.

the barrel wedge is in good shape and holds tight. the trigger guard was broken behind the the trigger, and was not repaired very well. i will fix it right before i sell it. the butt stock is in good shape and has nice tiger striped walnut. the gun shoots very good and patterns nice, i use magtech 2 1/2 brass shells and a 2 1/2 dram load most times with #6.

the hammers are tight and look original there are rebounding good primer strikes and centered. i do like this shot gun and has shot a lot of small game. would just like to see what you guys think it's worth. thanks. troy.
sorry for the bad photos. if you need more i will get some more.

I have no idea what it's value would be, but that's a good lookin' old scattergun! Hammer doubles are just plain cool.
ya it's a good shooter. if i don't sell it. i think i would remake a forearm and fix the trigger guard tang right. i like hammered guns with i could find a more modern one, but black powder is fun. and all the guys that say you shoot that thing.

CZ makes a hammer double

Alternately, run it with sub gauge inserts. I have an 1878 mfr. L.C. Smith 10 ga. Hammer Double in very good condition. For hunting, I run 2-7/8" RSC light shells, but those things are expensive, so for just playing, I use bulk pack 20 ga with inserts. Doesn't pattern real well with the huge bore discrepancy, and a bit slower to reload, but still a good way to play with it that doesn't cost $1.50 every time I pull a trigger.

ya i have had my on the cz, i just wish they made them. there just under $1000, if i had the money i would like one. i like the pedersoli sxs ML to but there like 900. i have a 19'' mauser barrel that i was given with hatter in the chamber, it's threaded for a brake to. but to short to ream out to a magnum to clean the chamber up, i would like to make some chamber inserts with it. in some small 30 cal.
