Star pistols were made by Bonifacio Echeverria, S.A., in Eibar, Spain. They went out of business in 1997. You don't mention the model, but it is probably the Model F, which was the only .22 model imported; there were some variations (FS, FR, F Olympic, etc.). Importation stopped in 1968 when the Model F could not meet the new requirements imposed by the Gun Control Act of 1968.

They were reasonably well made and inexpensive guns, selling for around $30+ in the 1960's, and make nice plinker pistols. Value is hot high, running around $200-250 in top condition. There is little collector interest. The nickel plating adds little to the value and may detract if it is chipped or peeling.

Parts are catch as can, though Gun Parts Corp. has some.

Star parts

Most Star parts are readily available from www.iparguns.com
and another vendor.
You can get almost anything for a Star except frame, slide, and barrel, which are restricted by Spanish law.

If you have any interest in selling or trading that pistol, send me an email.
