It's a Mk2 adapter and I am trying to decide if I should keep it for my 870, or if it's worth selling it to fund my Benelli M4 purchase. It's been bead blasted and re-parkerized after those photos where taken.
Sorry to bump this again, but whats the value if it's been refinished/repaired? Is there some authenticity of original finish thing going here like with antique guns?
The lug itself was spot welded on BTW (pretty shoddy weldi) and fell off for me, so it'll be silver soldered back on and the whole thing will be parkerized to look like new. I'm wondering how that'll affect price.
I was told to sell it as is and repairing would lower the value, not sure what to do.
Sell it as is on gunbroker. I would start the bidding at $100 and see what happens. It should attach with friction from the screws holding it in place. Take good pics of any problem areas and be honest in describing it.
Hmm. I was hoping to put it back together, park it and sell it with this +3 Remington 870 Extension that I got as a set. I figured repaired or not wouldn't matter much on prize, as it wasn't an antique where original finish counts for something.
Selling the +3 extension because I had my 20" barrel cut down to 18.5" due to a bulge near the muzzle and then threaded for chokes, so it'll need a +2 extension or look silly.
Some pictures of the broken lug, as you can see the mount itself that goes around the barrel is okay, just that the lug itself broke away. In these pictures it's been parked by me already.
