anyone know of anywhere online with varget in stock ? sitting on a large amount of components but no powder  called around within 200 miles all directions no luck. Hoping there's a place online with 1-4lbs in stock

Gunbot.com....I'm retired Military and leave it set to run with alarms during the day if I'm not at the range...2 to 3 days a week....I have 4 of the 8 pounders coming in this week...was down to 16 pounds....If you gotta work though dont know what to tell ya...it becomes available somewhere a couple times a month though and its always mail order

Dang, I don't think this place ships as it was a hole in the wall hardware/gun store in the middle of southwest Missouri.

for the time being just knabbed 4lbs of Reloader 15 from grafs.com ...

21.00 per lb 7.95 ship + 28 hazmat "it's the hazmat charge that is a dealbreaker" but hell didn't have to pay the typical 10-11% in tax so I'll give it a go. Since have to pay so damn much in shipping I might aswell be in for 4lbs instead of 1 or 2

I tried RL-15 awhile back when I borrowed a little and it was okayish varget just edged it out abit "for me". Although I didn't really put much effort into developing a load with the RL15 at the time so now I'll have the chance.. out of 4 rifles I'm sure one of them be it 308 with 155 game or 175smk or .223 with hornady .68 and .75's something should work.

I mostly like varget as is was damn accurate "for me" and was a true cross caliber powder that I actually got good results with whichever gun it was shot from.

still on the lookout for varget aswell but I got 1000 175 SMKs , 500 .75 hornady and 600 .68gr hornady's waiting to get lit. Haven't reloaded much since 2011 I always just load it all up in big batches so I can shoot whenever I get free time.

earlier today RECOBS HAD 1 LBS OF IT, ALL GONE NOW! I've seen them have it off and on recently. Gone now...

Russellc

I tried recobs I had 3lb in my cart went to checkout and gave me an error cannont process request.. tried again went back to cart and was empty with "out of stock"

The current pattern is that Varget appears online in the US and is gone about 2 minutes later :-(

I've selected and tested an alternative for my needs (Vit N-140) which has better Canadian availability than Varget does. (.308 Win 155g, .223 Rem 75g is my application)
Purchased new stocks of N-140. Once I've finished off my stocks of Varget I'll make the switch.

You may also want to look at alternative powders, a lot of people picked Varget as their "go-to" powder so unfulfilled demand for it is higher than some of the alternatives.

The option for now is to hunt for little treasure-troves at retail that have undiscovered stocks.

I use n140 aswell I have about 1/2 lb left n140 around here is harder to find than varget :-\ easier to find n140 and n540 online though but of course sold out everywhere aswell

It's coming... LGS had Varget on the shelf today (along with AutoComp, Titegroup and CFE Pistol, among several others). I'm pretty well set so I left the Varget for others. I did buy a pound of Titegroup, since I'm down near the bottom of my last one. I really thought about getting a can of the CFE Pistol, since I have not tried it before, but I don't have copper fouling issues and I have sufficient pistol powder for the time being. First the bullets caught up to demand, then the primers, now the powder is trickling in. There's light at the end of the tunnel!

hope so. my best group was with 175 smks at 110 yards all in same hole using varget. was doing a who can get the best group under rapid fire gets $5 sorta things.. everybody kept saying I missed the last 2 shots but looking at the paper you just notice 2 half ring marks around the first hole. haven't been able to re-do as good a group to date but hey it happened once..

I got a 50 yard range, 100 yard range "110 yard if shooting off deck" and a 300 yard range but can't use the 100 or 300 as my neighbor pays my to let the grass in my field grow high enough so he can cut it for hay. waiting for him to cut the damn stuffl I can't see down range :(

available at my LGS for just under $50 per pound. Hence why it's available.

Simmons sporting goods in Bastrop has it. I was in there a few days ago. Its going for 38.00 a pound if i remember.

if anyone is really desperate you can pay a scalper on gunbroker for varget at about $50.00+ per lb. I hate people like that honestly wish they'd crawl back under their rock and die. They also have .22lr ammo they buy up from all the stores just to screw people over and resell at 3-4x retail

38.00 per lb for varget? can get n140 and n540 cheaper than that damn. I still have 2lb jugs of VV powders with $48.99 price tags still on them I got from Jefferson gun outlet in metarie LA "previously called the shooters connection , shooters Club , jefferson Gun" don't know why they keep changing names it's the same owners and employees...

they were $24.00 per lb for varget and varget at basspro and cabelas both $26.99 but nobody can get it... few places I called "out of like 53 places" when I was calling around for varget all told me they've been trying to get varget for months to years. Online gets first stock, major stores, then small business pretty much.

At the gunshop I work at we received two pounds out of a twelve pound order of Varget along with forty pounds of other rifle powders. Since the only real benefit of working there is calling dibs, I bought both cans of Varget and they cost me $24.95 + tax each. But after a marathon reloading session last week, I was down to half a pound of it.

I picked up 4lbs at my lgs a couple weeks ago...very small store in a very small town. They said they had received 24lbs and it lasted 2 days. I was pretty excited to see it on the shelf for the first time in over a year

Varget in some areas

I don't know about online, but the Express Pawn in Columbus, GA just got a shipment of Varget, 800X, AutoComp, Power Pistol, and a few others along with plenty of Rifle Powder. :what:

Southernsorrow, I know that's high. CCI primers are priced at 49.99 for a brick. Each time i walk in that place i come out empty handed.

I have a local place called "blades and barrels" they have stupid high prics on everything in the store though. It's pretty much like gunbroker without shipping prices... if you want CCI minimags they are 18.00 per 100 there. ripoffs

I wish I could find some small pistol primers ontop of my powder needs. I got about 430~ cci small pistol , 900 cci large rifle benchrest , 300 winchester large rifle , 700 small rifle cci, 4000 cci large pistol

I don't reload small batches on a regular basis like alot of people I know "load 20 go to the range and shoot 20" I just reload larger batches of atleast 100+ rounds at a time, shoot when I can then repeat the cycle. so when I do finaly get around to having time to reload I use alot of components at a time to last me a while.

I have 4 rifles I reload for and Varget is the best performer in all 4 of them... no point buying multiple brands etc. if you find a powder that gives the best results per gun and all of which are from the same make/model of powder. Ordered a bunch of Reloader 15 from grafs to play around with until I knab some varget so will see how that performs in the guns. Anything will work as long as it's the correct type of powder and within spec I just like to stick with what works (best) atleast for my firearms.

currently on my radar for "buy as soon as available" Varget, HS-6 or power pistol, N340 , CCI small pistol primers.
