First, Hello to everyone. I have been lurking around and reading this board for a brief while. I read a thread regarding the Robinson Armament, Vepr rifle "Group buy".
I won a Vepr K in 545.39r on Gunbroker just last night, and was wondering about the type of service some of you that own one have had. Plus, I have nothing else to do tonight but think about when my new gun will arrive.

Your input would be graciously received.

That is a super accurate and high quality AK there. I personally dont like the 5.45x39 for self defense, but you could do a lot worse.

That round was not my first choice either, seems Wolf Ammo is the only choice for now. I did what I think was a great deal however, $350. + $25. shipping. The rifle only has 200 rds though it, and is in mint condition. Good deal I thought.

I have a Vepr 7.62X39. No service required. It has worked flawlessly since I got it. It is a heavy but tough rifle. Most of the weight is forward of the pistol grip so it is front heavy, but I don't notice that much when actually shooting.

You will love the 5.45x39 round. Its more accurate and has less recoil than the 7.62. As far as lethality. I wouldn't want to be hit with it.

I own a Vepr in 7.62x39. It is rather accurate. ;) I own another AK in 5.45x39. It is a fun round to shoot. Very low recoil, very 5.56-like. Putting the accuracy of the Vepr and it's somewhat hefty weight together with the low recoil of the 5.45 round, and you should have a fun gun.

The VEPR is a great AK variant, and I believe you will become a fan of the 5.45X39 caliber.

You got a great deal on that rifle by the way.

That all sounds like positive feedback to me. Thanks!
Right now, I'm playing the waiting game. I did my part, it's up to the seller to do his.

BTW, I have seen the vented handguard for the Vepr on the Robinson Armament site. I think for $79. that would make a cool upgrade.:D

I think the VEPR is the best AK period. You should be pleased. Mine is 7.62x39. I hear AK ammo is scarce these days... makes me glad I stocked up awhile ago.
Have you tried http://ammunitionstore.com ?

They are out of stock too.

Thanks for trying to help out. :)
