I've seen the surefire version which is way too expensive for me (almost twice what I gave for the gun). I saw a pic in which the guy had a fore grip that held a normal flashlight. I was hoping someone makes a vertical grip version. Anyone know of one? I have a Mossberg 500 BTW.
Thanks a lot for your help.

here is what I mean but this is a rail mounted version. I would love to have this but on my shotty.

That grip is kinda neat who makes it?
Now if only someone out there could combine this concept with the grip pod making one item do three jobs it would be a better mousetrap.
Thanks for posting.

There are a few drawbacks to putting a vertical foregrip on a shotgun, other than making it Rooney gun looking. I tried it once and removed it within a week. It made cycling the pump very unnatural feeling and it didn't point naturally. Mostly it put a LOT of twisting torque on the action arms. I was very careful with it, but with much rough use, it would have definately damaged them. Might work fine on an autoloader though, if it points well for you.

Also, if you put a regular flashlight on a shotgun, make sure the bulb mounts securely. If it just plugs in like the Mini-Mag bulbs do, the recoil will unplug it in just a few shots. I tried to save myself a couple bucks when looking for a lighting solution and discovered that the hard way.

Thanks for the insight Plink. I am now reconsidering as I see what you mean about odd twisting of the wrist. I have tendonitus so that matters to me. I bet a 45 degree angle (or 30) would be the best of both worlds. Now I'm getting too wishful.

Has anyone used a grip like the one in the pic? I could live with one of those if it wasn't too expensive.

Gustav, it doesn't say who makes them dang it. Decent price though when compared to the surefire version which doesn't have the trigger for the light. I'm sure it wouldn't hold up to 1000 rounds per week for long but my AR gets used rarely (no rifle ranges anywhere near my house) until I move. And at $100 including the flashlight, one could afford a few. I'll probably get one for the AR since I like lights and I'm in the market for a vert fore grip anyway. They look comfy.

I found your answer in a recent Fireqest Catalog I recieved. The are offering pump action forgrips with a section of rail that could be used attach anything that fits said rail

See www.firequest.com

Item Number:
ad452 Remington 870
ad454 Mossber 500 or 590
ad456 Winchester 1200 or Winchester 1300

That is pretty close to what I was looking for. Neat catalog too. Thanks a lot for that mp510.
