Apologies for another newbie question. I have been really struggling to load the last round into the 10-round magazines of my new Walther P99C. If I try to do it slowly and carefully, it seems next to impossible to get the round in. But if I do it with a really hard, fast action, it does go in. Two magazines came with the pistol and I bought a third, and they are all equally hard work when it comes to inserting the last round. Anyone else experience this? Is it normal that one should have to work so hard to press in the last round? Is any harm going to come to the magazine spring by compressing it so forcefully?

dont worry, its normal

load them up with 9 and leave them for a while, it will break in the spring a little and it will be easier to load after. as long as you don't try to load more rounds than the mag was designed for and you should be alright.

I have the EXACT same issue with my Sig P220 45 Auto.
That's just the way it is.

Make sure you send that magazine 'home' when inserting into gun! A couple of times my magazine dropped when pulling on the slide as I did not press it quite hard enough to lock it into place.:cuss:

yes it is totally normal, new magazines, and new springs will do that, but it will get better and easier to get all the rounds in there with time, and use. i also recommend that you look into getting you one of th euplula mag loaders, that takes all the work out of it, new mag or old.

Had this when I first got my FN BHP. I think once I cut myself getting in the last one. Took months of sitting in the safe full before I could do it easily.
