My wife and I live in the Los Angeles area and spend a couple of weekends a year in the Palm Springs, La Quinta area.

I have a few rifles that my wife does not like to shoot: either too big, to loud, too heavy, to akward, etc., although she does like to shoot handguns.

When we travel, we usually frequent some of the local gunshops. In this instance, we visited Guns of Distinction in Palm Desert. Very nice store, friendly, knowledgeable proprietors, good selection of new and used firearms and also some Western Art.

We went in primarily looking at handguns (I always hope that my wife will find one she likes) but they had a couple of 22lr Colt AR-15's in stock. They showed the rifles to us and my wife fell in love with the 16" M4-Ops version. The price was right, so we bought it.

California has the 10 day wait period, so we figured we had to drive out to the desert again to pick it up after the 10th day, but the owner said that he would be visiting his daughter, who lives close to us in a couple of weeks and would deliver it to us. I couldn't ask for nicer store. Great service.

Now when i shoot my Stag 5.56 AR-15, she can shoot hers.

Didn't realize it was legal to do a transfer not in the store or at the gunshow.

^ you sure can, I have done some on the tailgate of a pickup, garages, even one in a cornfield.

I didn't even know Colt made a .22lr AR-15. Guess I've been out of the loop on AR's lately. Sounds really cool, how much did it set you back?

I worked for an ffl dealer. Many of our customers lived in rural parts of the state, and we would happily deliver firearms and do the transition at their house, or wherever they happened to be at the time.

I'm not sure if anyone has seen that show on showtime called lock and load. That seems like a nice gun store. They have a 10 lane indoor shooting range that is pretty kick asss. If you have showtime and u love guns check it out on wed. At 10pm central time. Gotta love family owned gun stores.

A really good day indeed!

BTW, it's made by Walther, imported by Uramex (the same way Century imports arms but does not manufacture them), and it is marketed by Colt.

You would be doing us, and the shop in question a favor by letting us know who provided you with such outstanding service.
