I was a 0311 grunt in the U.S.M.C.serving in RVN from 6/68 to 7/69.Loved my M-16, she got me back to the world.:cool:

USMC 82-86 Structural Mechanic, "wrench" and M16A1, M16A2 (brand new ones in '85 IIRC)
Short stint during that time assigned to the MPs as a Flightline Guard, M16A2
USMCR 86-88 Structural Mechanic, qual'd M16A1
USAFR - 88-2002 TurboProp Mechanic "wrench" and M16 variants
USAFR - 2002 - Present commissioned into Security Forces (military police) M16, M16A1, M16A2, and my brand New M4 w/ M68 Aimpoint in 2005 and M9. El Salvador 2005, Kyrgystan 2006, Iraq 2009/10

32 years (mostly part-time) and still going.
 
I didn't.

I rang in this year's Veteran's Day at the local Emergency Room with a Kidney stone. When I finally left the hospital, I spend almost the entire day sleeping the exhausted sleep of someone totally worn out from the experience...and the meds.

Had it been otherwise, I would have been carrying my usual Colt 1991A1.

And yes...I'm feeling MUCH better now, thank you!

My lowly commercial Russian Makarov with barnaul 95 gr JHP. I was in downtown Houston watching the parade. I even saw former Sec of State James Baker walking pass me . The guy doesnt walk like an 80 yr old man. He s more like in his 50 s.
 
where did you serve and what weapons did you carry?

USMC, 1974-77

M16a1 and M1911a1

I was stuck on the East Coast the entire time, except for a training operation in the Carib.
