Vibe motor for powder measure - powder settling

I have trickled and dispensed weighed powder charges for load development and target rifles but bulk pistol ammo will take what the measure gives it.
I agree regarding the bulk or plinking ammo.

I was going through my load index cards and I only use flake for a few loads. I have matching loads for ball powder for many of my pistol loads. Once I run out of flake ammo I am done with it.

The other day i was loading. And my charge weight went up. Here i forgot to lock the meter in place. A vibrator would have made it happen faster i think. Im glad i check the charge now and then as im going.

I do as well. One thing I love about my RCBS powder measure is that Micro Adjustable Screw (their name, not mine) is that it doesn’t move and if it does you can see it. If I am loading more than 100 rounds I put a piece of tape on it to ensure I see movement. I never have.

I have been thinking about it and the comment @Jim Watson made is very valid. A deviation of .08 grains isn’t all that bad for the type of measure it is.
I will stick with this measure for most ammo, but I still want a more accurate one for special and hunting ammo.
And you’re right about the vibe motor. I didn’t even consider that. Good point.

I was thinking that very thing. I just hate emptying powder when I have a lot of powder in the hopper. I haven’t come up with a quick way of doing that.

Just unscrew the powder measure nut or from the press (how do you have it attached.

Use a large mouth funnel and dump it all back into the powder jar (baffle and all)
Move the charge lever a few times and you are done, empty,

Thanks. I looked at doing that a couple of days ago. I really have that powder measure seated good. It’s stuck in the stand but good. 😆
That’s okay, it doesn’t take long to dump the hopper by running the Micro Screw all the way out and flipping the lever up and down to empty it.

It shouldn't be that tight?? Some penetrating oil and wrench(whatever size)
