12 grains? Wow! You never mentioned what that charge weighs. I've heard they hold about 25 grns of 3F.

Someone messaged me with a really awesome fix job for the Pocket Colts, which was to place a thin bar across the recoil shield and to make a recess in the hammer nose for that wire. This way the safety pins can still be used and the wire holds the caps back from falling off of the nipples. But I cannot seem to find it anywhere. I'll keep checking for it though, as I've read many of the "fixes" aren't 100%.

Found it in an email folder to save for later as I want one of those Colt Pocket models myself. I was off a bit on how it works. This pin sits in the frame and protrudes into the safety slot on the hammer nose when not cocked. Great idea!

Send me your email address in a PM if you want me to forward it to you.

I sent you the fix but look at the pics of the version Mike did on my 1862/5. He dovetailed in a T shaped piece of metal there to hold the caps on then relieved the frame to help channel them away

I didnt ever say what it weighed Im glad you reminded me...and I was a bit surprised to find it was closer to 15 grains of my home made...I would have swore it was way smaller.

Yes Sir, 15 (13 to 15) by weight and the volume is exactly 25 grains...I dont compress my powder it is only screened, I also do not separate out the smaller stuff so you might not get quite 25 of the commercial stuff....Thanks for the look and comments guys!
