Hello,

Does anyone live near the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washing D.C. or have a friend who lives near there?

Heres why:

An extended family member has his fathers 1911 Colt slide (just the slide) that he carried in Vietnam. His father died in Vietnam and his wife and I have taken on the task of getting the 1911 put back together as a Fathers Day/Birthday gift for him.

I have a professional pistol smith working on the gun right now.

But i was thinking it would be nice to present it on a wall hanging plaque with mementos of his father also on the plaque. The greatest memento I could think of would be a pencil etching of his dads name from the Vietnam memorial. However I live in San Antonio, Texas and I couldnt afford to go do Washington.

Would anyone be willing to get an etching for me and send it to me (I'd pay you back postage) to help put this small memorial plaque together for a fallen hero and his son so his fathers memory will be past to future generations.

Please let me know.

Thanks
Steve

PS: if you can do it, please reach me at [email protected] and i can get you my address.

HOOAH! People like you restore my faith in Americans.

Shake every veterans' hand and thank them. They've earned it.

WOW This was great to read! Really made me feel good . I have been watching the Vietnam in hd series and am sort of a history buff. I am very thankful to all vets that served past present and that will serve in the future.
