Since Vihtavuori powders are available in my area, I looked bit more into their loading manual, and found, among others, N32C (TIN STAR).

I had noticed that this powder is listed for so called "Cowboy Action Shooting" in 44 Magnum, see https://www.vihtavuori.com/reloading-data/handgun-reloading/?cartridge=47 .

For lead SWC 267 grain, loads are from 7.7 grains to 9.3 grains, velocities from 889 to 988 fps, just right for a plinking and target shooting.

Anybody has experience with this powder? I would appreciate your experience and favorite loads.

Thanks

Not in 44 Mag but for subsonic 450 Bushmaster and 455 Webley. Meters well and clean burning.

Regarding 455 Webley:

- What's the brass, Mk I long, or Mk II?
- What kind of bullet?
- What would be powder charge?
- OAL of loaded round?
- Did you measure velocity?

Thanks

Been using N330,340&350 in several pistol loads.

330 in 38sp 4.6-5.2gr 158gr cast bullet
340 in 38sp 158gr Berry FP over 6.0gr
340 in 38sp 158gr SWC 5.6gr

340 in Colt 45 9.2gr 255 FP Extreme Bullet

330 in .380 3.3gr 100gr RNFP Extreme Bullet

I like the stuff. Wish I could find a little more load data on it tho.

N32C is very similar to Trail Boss, very bulky, I would assume don't compress it, very clean, quite fast. As with Trail Boss, it much prefers lead or coated lead to plated. Haven't tried it with jacketed, and didn't find anything where it jumped out and wowed me. Good stuff, just didn't fill the niche I was looking for.

I had high hopes for it in .32-20, everything else was/is so hard to see in that case.

The brass was the Mk II from Starline.
The bullet was a very nice replica of the Mk II Hollow Base Round nose bullet from Matt's bullets

For all the details including chrono data I hope you don't mind if I point you two a thread I started on my endevores into reloading 455 Webley:
