Is anybody going to San Antone?
Went into a pawnshop initially wanting to see a 28-2 highway patrolman that I'd seen before but I finally got the extra cash to get , sadly it wasn't there in fact none of the revolvers were there except for a couple of j frames, a couple of tauri, and beat to hell Rossi, but amidst the glocks sitting to the right corner, was a Colt cobra the thing don't even got a turn line! They advertised 699 price I said can I make an offer the salesman goes to ask his manager what's the lowest they'll take, I yelled out to him while walking "625 cash and im taking it home today!" That was enough apparently , they have alot of people only doing layaway right now so the instant cash thing I guess enticed them and I left with this beaut. Sorry my camera is terrible so the pic may have come out a bit dark. IMG_20171127_204001.jpg

Very nice revolver, and looks like you got a fair deal. Looking forward to a range report!

They are certainly larger than a 2" J frame Smith, but the nice thing about the Colt's..... they were shootable right out of the box. No need for different grips, those are just RIGHT. And...SIX shots. You did well. Good one to keep too.

Nice Cobra for sure but I would save the adjective "vintage" for Cobras (and Detective Specials and Agents for that matter) for Colt snubbies with unshrouded ejector rods.

The Evangelist Cowboy

You done good on the Colt Cobra and at a decent price, given it's condition!

I believe vintage is an accurate description since they are making a new model Cobra that is an all new gun.

3 years ago I found a 1957 Cobra for $425 that needed grips.
I was very happy to find it.
Then I got lucky with Ebay and found the right grips.

Just finding a Colt double action is very hard.... let alone the snake series!
I found a couple 1923 double action Colt revolvers last week, and they are not collector quality at all.

Haven't seen any of the new ones at all around here id like to get my hands on one to compare it but when I heard of its all steel construction which can be a help to some people I think they should've named it something else. The Colt rattler or the Colt corn snake .

Alte Schule

Had one just like it many years ago. Beautifully made with that deep Colt bluing, it was one of the nicest snubbies I owned.
