IMO this is a better way to go than sitting in some desolate place where some idiot can practice their sniper skills. That is, if the BP will do any follow up. At least, if they get the information, pass it on, and there is no goverment response, they should have some good lawsuit material.

Virginia 'Minuteman' effort to focus on illegal immigrants

The northern Virginia community of Herndon has attracted a group associated with the Arizona's border-patrolling Minuteman Project.

The group plans to monitor day labor activities and report illegal aliens and their employers.

But the local group's leader George Taplin says the ultimate goal is to rid the area of illegal aliens.

Plans for an official hiring site for primarily Latino workers sparked a heated debate this summer in this Washington suburb.

Groups working to operate the day laborer centers say they have received several calls from laborers and employers concerned about the patrols.

Taplin says more than 50 volunteers will begin patrolling hiring sites and trailing laborers to their work sites in about two weeks.

They will compile photographs and record the names of companies hiring workers, then give the information to federal immigration authorities, local law enforcement and other agencies.

Lol

I busted out laughing when I read another headline about farmers fearing a worker shortage for a winter harvest. 11 million of them in the country and we need more to have a few for a harvest. What a crock. Reminds me of what was done to our country by exploitive plantation owners in a prior time. They want free labor, so they use the workers and then let them go to be the responsibility of the folks that don't have a plantation and are stuggling to feed themselves and their families.
They probably are writing to their congressmen buddies, and telling them that the ones here now are getting welfare and don't need to work for them anymore. Making more on welfare, and don't want to jeopardize that with having a work income.

I hope it branches out to other cities and chapters. Its a really positive way for any american to contribute with little more than sacrificing a vacation day, rather than a week or more off work, plus travel and expenses!

Thought I'd beat him to it. This way, he won't have to show up and shame himself by not answering the question in my sig.

Probably has nothing to do with the fact that, contrary to popular belief, those crossing the border from Mexico are indeed integrating into US society and improving their lot in life.

It's very likely that of the 11 million already here, a large percentage of them don't want to work in the fields for $2/hr, either.

But, carry on...

Have to disagree, Justin. Some are integrating but many aren't. From my experience, they're trying to force their culture upon the mainstream's and improving their lot at the expense of the American taxpayer and the number is quite likely closer to 20 mill than 11. If they're integrating, why is everything in just about every govt office printed in spanish also?

Nope. In fact, it makes me mad enough to have sex with Rosie O'Donnel.:cuss:

If the information were given to local newspapers, it might end up accomplishing things. Giving it to cops guarantees nothing will be done with it.
