I am looking for experiences with the VLTOR Cluster Rail system for the Springfield Armory M1A. Specifically, I would like to know if anyone has had the system installed on their rifle by Springfield after purchasing the rifle, how much it set them back, and whether there was any perceivable change made to accuracy other than being able to more easily mount an optic.

This system is most commonly seen on the SOCOM II rifles, but I have a review of my exact rifle--the stainless/synthetic M1A Loaded--with the system installed. It looks like it might be lighter and, hopefully, a little cheaper than the Sage chassis stock. And I like that it keeps a little more traditional look and feel to the rifle. I like that the bottom rail can be easily removed. I have a shooting sling on mine and have no interest in mounting a VFG or bipod on the rifle, but I like the full length scope rail.

Any input appreciated.
