A friend of mine brought an interesting rifle to the range yesterday and I want to find out a little more about it.

It is marked:
VOERE
Vohrenback Germany
and in Script letters: "Shikar"

It is stampted .243 Caliber on the barrel and besides the serial number a 68 on the barrel as well. Which, I am assuming is for 1968.

The overall look of the rifle is quite nice. I have found very little on the internet about this rifle or the value. My friend purchased it for around 200 bucks a few years ago, which I am guessing was a pretty good deal.

Any extra info on this rifle? I will post some pictures soon.

They are a very good, quality rifle and often appear to be similar to the older Weatherby Mark V rifles in looks and style.
Voere was taken over by Interarms, if I'm not mistaken, and no Voere rifles made after 1986.
At $200, your friend got a very good deal.

Cool. It surely is a nice looking rifle, he just needs to pull of the cheapo tasco scope and put some glass a little more worthy...
