I am definitely a Vortex fan and pretty much switched everything over to their products.

I stumbled upon this Gen 1 Razor HD 1-4x24 with an EBR556 reticle. The scope was already mounted on a Trijicon BOBRO mount. Both in excellent condition

I couldn’t find a lot of info on the Razor itself, only a few YouTube videos, and some manuals and websites showing discontinued. I found the BOBRO mounts go for $265, geez. Haha!

I contacted Vortex and this came out several years years ago and was discontinued 8 or so years ago. The customer service representative said they still get calls and requests about them ever offing this magnification range again in the Razor, which they don’t appear to be planning too. He said a lot of competition shooters like the 1-4 vs 1-6. I already have the Viper PST II Gen II 1-6x24 on another rifle and a UH-1 Gen II and Micro 3x on the other, plus this one.

Does anyone else have this scope or mount? What are your thoughts? I’m into this pretty good and can’t wait to try it out!

The 1-4x razor is a very nice scope in terms of glass and build quality. If I came across one at a good price, I'd probably grab it. It does have its drawbacks though. I'm not wild about the exposed turrets on a 4x LPVO and it's kind of heavy for what it is. If I remember right, it doesn't weight much less than the Gen II or III Razor LPVO and the turrets don't lock. It's nice to shoot with though. If you take it out humping around, be sure to verify that your turrets didn't get spun before you shoot.

The bobro mount is nice and has a good reputation for their ability to return to zero, but honestly, their method of attachment doesn't inspire confidence for me.

What you got yourself is a nice setup. I just don't think I'd put it on a goto rig.
