Any pros or cons about this scope, Was also considering leupold MK AR with fire dot, But according to salesman they have had 2 returned for not being able to adjust scope reticle wouldn't move, 1 of them they said the owner screwed it up and they wouldn't warranty it, The 2nd one the guy got it back the tube was scratched really bad and the scope still wouldn't work so I gave up on that one, The PST reticle is hard for me to read , I can read the Strike Eagle a lot better so interested in comments on it, Thanks

I like mine, but have only had it for a month or so. Only 1 range trip and 1 informal trip to the woods to fire off a few rounds.

Could not find anyone that said anything bad about them.

Had one, hated it. The fish eye at 1x is nauseating. As with all Viper scopes I've had (3 of them) the eyebox is not very forgiving at higher magnifications.

I'm not a huge Vortex fan. That being said I believe the Strike Eagle to be pretty decent but would take the Leupold any day. The store salesman's story sounds fishy to me.

Just bought one a couple of weeks ago, it's replacing the Diamondback HP 2-8x on my M1A SOCOM EBR after deer season. So far, just playing with it, the glass to be nice and clear, no fish eye at 1x, very crisp reticle, no halo or distortion when illuminated. Also, their "no matter what happened to it" warranty is a selling point for me. $305 from Optics Planet.

Right now, you can get a Strike Eagle from Opticsplanet for $225 delivered. Use the online chat feature and simply ask for the $225 price. Even though its not my favorite optic, its definitely the best $225 low magnification scope around.

Just had my Strike Eagle fall apart inside. 600 rounds factory 308 fired from DPMS 308 Oracle. You could hear the lenses flopping around inside. If you tipped it forward it would come back into focus. Tip it backwards or fire it and focus was gone. Sure Vortex will fix it but that does you no good on a hunting trip or SHTF. Bought a Sparc II and some stuff came loose inside after 75 skeet loads Mossberg 930. Sure Vortex will fix it, you pay shipping and wait for your optic. Had better luck with a Cheap BARSKA 1x4 1000 rounds 308 and 700 .223 Still works fine. Warranty is great but I had to use it too much. Staying away from Vortex

Take a look at the Burris RT6 as well. It's newer, but I have decided on this over the strike eagle

I will take a look. What rifle are you going to use it on ? I would like to know how it holds up to .308/ 7.62x51 . Thank You .

I am using it in an ar15 5.56. I don't see why it wouldn't be in for 308. I have a Burris on my 30-06 and it has help up great over the years.

I was following a thread on another forum on the RT6 and it convinced me to go with it. I will try to message you the link if I can find it

I have a non-illuminated Mark AR, in fact I've bought 3. The 3-9 is mounted on my Rock River AR (.223) and held up fine for some 2,000 rounds before I swapped it for a red dot. Still pristine, I just have more fun with the dot vs. the ho-hum of a target AR.

The 1.5-4 Mark ARs sit atop a .357 lever action with just a few hundred rounds through it and a Crosman Nitro piston pellet rifle with over 500 rounds through it. Not a single problem with any of them.

More often than not the typical scope owner has very little idea on how to correctly mount, focus, and use an optic which is where troubles begin. In the 7+ years I worked retail as a young man I met a handful who picked up binoculars and focused them properly, and never once did I see someone manage that with a rifle scope.

I never wanted to talk down to a customer but for an investment that is often sizeable it makes sense to be informed. This was before the advent of fast-focus eye pieces, though I suspect most still cannot adjust correctly. FWIW the Mark AR series have traditional locking focus and every scope I own needed considerable adjustment for my eye.

I don't buy that story about the Leupold customer service response for those two instances. Ain't gonna happen with Leupold. Wouldn't happen that way with Vortex either, or Bushnell, Nightforce....

I have the Strike Eagle 1-8x for 3 gun. It's a beginner scope. Glass ain't great but it works. Super durable. Throw ring is on Brownells. Illumination isn't daytime bright, but close. I leave the illumination on incase a target is dark. But I prefer it off. Reticle is a bit thick when lit up.

The BDC worked great with Hornady Match 75gn. I go from 125yd steel to 260yd to 50yd, then back to 260yd ringing steel perfectly all the way, no knobs or Kentucky windage. Just BDC.

The Trijicon 1-8x 34mm, RED, is better in every way except no turret caps and big turrets. It's also $1200.

The SE is just to hold me over until I get more experience with other 3gun scopes. I'd imagine they'll all have HD glass 1-10x scopes under $1000 next year or two.
